Artworks and Paintings
My career took me off into many endeavors, and is the reason that I call myself a multimedia artist. Yet, I promised myself that I would return to painting in oils.
In 2023, I took an abstract painting class with fine artist Johanna Furst, in Lambertville, NJ. I continue to take classes in her studio and have a sense of community there. Johanna is an inspirational teacher. Taking up creating again with Johanna has elevated my paintings to the next level. Most of these works were created in her studios in Lambertville, yet I also have a studio at my home in Bordentown, New Jersey.
Another aspect of creating again is that the act of painting has dissipated a lifelong battle with anxiety. I lived my life under a lot of stress and deadlines working in the high-stress field of communications. Painting again has been therapeutic and it is the reason for my theme “Being Human.” Using my eyes, in tune with my hands, takes me closer to the artistry of fine art.
According to Julia Cameron, in her book “The Artist’s Way,” champions the idea that creativity and artistic expression are not exclusive to a select few, but rather a potential inherent in all individuals, making art a democratic in what ever level you are.
